Budapest is often described as the Paris of Central Europe. Certainly the tree lined Andrássy avenue stretching from the city centre to Heroes Square and the City Park close to the Széchenyi Thermal Baths is very reminiscent of Paris. The avenue was made even more famous when it was used in the making of the film musical 'Evita'.
Budapest has a spectacular water front with the Parliament building, the Gellert Hotel and the castle clearly lit up at night including the seven bridges that cross the Danube between Buda and Pest.
Hungary is a renowned country for its thermal baths, its wines and cuisine. An ideal weekend holiday break.
- Look out for your name sign when you arrive
- If paying on the day, pay in Euros or the local currency; credit card payment is not possible on the day itself.

+ Quick & got what you paid for.
- We expected someone to wait at the airport for us with our name on a card, but we had to find someone who had a list of names instead. Driver didn't try & talk to us. He could have said 'No English' if he couldn't speak it & then we wouldn't have felt disappointed at not being able to learn some local things from him. When delivered to our hotel the driver opened my door & then rushed off to the hotel with our suitcases which was downhill & where we couldn't see. He should have waited for us to come with him. He also left without saying goodbye.
